Jesus said “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8 v12.
Here Jesus reminds us that God wants the very best for us and when we walk with Him we flourish and reach our God given potential. ‘Together we are walking in the light with Jesus and we let our light shine’ is central to all that the school offers the children and community, and underpins the Christian Values of the school.
We aim to bring light into the lives of the children and community, both in sharing the love of God and a love of learning.
This light opens pathways to equip our children with the skills in life to enable them to become balanced, creative and successful individuals with a sense of purpose and destiny.
Kingsland prides itself on the support offered to all of our families and community through our Lighthouse Centre with daily workshops for parents, children and families to join in with. Our Lantern Cafe is open daily, situated in the main entrance to the academy, where families can gather to enjoy breakfast or snacks. All of the profits from our cafe are used to provide holiday activities for our children.
We are the Apple Regional Training Centre and lead training for other schools in the area. Every child in Year 1 to 6 has their own iPad to use at school for learning and at home too.
We place a high priority on ensuring that our children have the reading, writing and mathematics skills they need for the future and our creative curriculum supports this and their wider knowledge.
Visitors to our school often comment on the friendly, calm, happy environment and a feeling of family. We believe that we know every child as an individual, and place great importance on the establishment of strong and positive relationships with parents and carers.
I look forward to welcoming you to our fabulous academy.
